Open Book with Selma Mann & Mary Alice Sutherland

Free Open Book Event with authors: Selma Mann & Mary Alice Sutherland

6:00 p.m. social

6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Poetry and verses for the young and old. Followed by a Q & A, sales and book signing.

Selma has published two books of poetry. The poems of Mourning Cloak offer a poignant literary journey of loss, grief, and acceptance, eased at times by unexpected humor edging in against the poignancy. The poems of Selma’s Whimsical Warrior salute the surprising quirks of a mature life in which aging is taken with delight, humor, and grace.

Mary Sutherland is the author and illustrator of two books for children (and their grownups). Stories in Verses for the Child You Love centers on a number of topics in which children delight, such as animals (stuffed as well as real), nature, playtime, and seasonal activities. A Hibernating Bear and a Holiday Hare presents characters such as Mr. Bear, who is ready to hibernate; Mr. Hare, who is ready to celebrate; and little mice waiting for the rain to stop. Other subjects include birthday wishes, dreaming of playgrounds, and the comforts of home.

The event is free. RSVP to encouraged.
