Family man and patrol officer for the Orchard Hills Police Department, Howard Hamilton enjoys quiet night shifts in the sleepy Los Angeles community. But when a rookie officer is killed, and another suffers a heart attack, Hamilton is transferred to day shift and finds himself in the middle of a murder mystery that keeps the reader guessing until the very last page.
