The OneLegacy Foundation was created in 2011 to support the mission of OneLegacy, the nation’s largest organ, eye, and tissue recovery organization and trusted steward of the donation process.
Donation is a rare and precious event, and the process is emotional and complex. Every chance to donate life requires sensitivity, skill, science and a spirit of service.
The OneLegacy Foundation’s focus is to educate and inspire people to take action in support of living and deceased donation. Please join us to help heal and save lives, comfort the families we serve, and honor those whose legacies live on.
Lacey Wood also known as “Lucky Lacey” received a heart transplant almost 29 years ago from a little boy named James who was in a terrible accident. In her teens, she also received a kidney transplant from her older brother Tyson. There is not a day that goes by that she doesn’t think of that little boy’s family and her brother’s life-saving decisions. One of the many ways she chose to fulfill her mission in life was to join OneLegacy’s Public Education Department. To further that mission she also completed a Master’s in Public Health at UCLA. Lacey will continue on her life’s mission to make sure that everyone is educated on the possibility of saving a life just like hers.
