Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center
Opens New DISNEYLAND Exhibitions in Fall 2026
ANAHEIM, California, July 3, 2026 – Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center is proud to
announce two companion exhibitions opening alongside “Capturing Life, Creating Character:
The Art of Live-Action Reference,” the world premier Walt Disney Archives exhibition. Presented
in Muzeo’s historic Carnegie Galleries, Anaheimland and The Happiest Place: SHAG Imagines
Disneyland offers visitors a rich expansion of Disneyland’s legacy. All three exhibitions are open
August 8 through November 1, 2026.
Curated in-house, Anaheimland presents stories centered around those who have
worked, lived, and grew up around Disneyland. Through personal photographs, memorabilia,
oral histories, and artifacts drawn from cast members, neighbors, and collectors, Anaheimland
illuminates the Happiest Place on Earth in a different light.
“Most exhibitions about Disneyland look at the park from the outside. Anaheimland
turns that around entirely and showcases Disneyland as seen through the eyes of the people
who built it, staffed it, and called Anaheim home.” – Clark Silva, Curator
Displayed in the Historic Carnegie Turner Gallery, The Happiest Place: Shag Imagines
Disneyland showcases works created by Southern California artist SHAG who has spent his
career perfecting a distinct, bold, nostalgic visual art style that captures the mid-century
modern design style.
SHAG’s relationship with Disney began with a commission for the 40th anniversary of
the Enchanted Tiki Room and later became an official Disney artist in 2005. This collection of
serigraph prints and original paintings reimagines iconic landmarks of Disneyland, such as The
Haunted Mansion, the Enchanted Tiki Room, and the Jungle Cruise.
Together, these three exhibitions honor Disneyland’s past, celebrate its artistic legacy,
and amplify the voices of the community that has called it neighbor for more than 70 years.
