Mr. Jackson, Jr., the elder Anaheim resident who once risked being lynched to desegregate a public library in Jackson, Mississippi, will share his story and the history of those times [the 60’s] in commemoration of Black History Month. A member of the Tougaloo Nine, a group of NAACP college students that staged a sit-in plotted by Medgar Evers at the whites-only library. Through this nonviolent activism and courage these nine students advocated for a civil society. Limited seating.
