Dennis Hays became a woodworker in 1977 when he traded his dining room table for a radial arm saw. He then made a replacement dining room table, and was inspired by Sam Maloof’s article on how to make a rocking chair. Today, Hays makes custom furniture full-time and is well known for his chairs, cabinets, and custom music stands.
