Muzeo Traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony

Saturday • Sep 21, 2019 • 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm PDT

As part of Muzeo’s I Am an American Exhibition Art & Education Series, please join us for an exclusive Japanese tea ceremony!  Participants will take part in a beautiful Japanese ceremony called Chanoyu, Cha-do or simply O-cha, the traditional etiquette of preparing and serving Japanese green tea. Preparing tea in this ceremony involves the principles of harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility. The process is not about drinking tea, but the aesthetics of preparing a bowl of tea from one’s heart – sharing a bowl of tea.  Participants will go through an actual ceremony and understand all of the cultural elements that make up this art form.  All supplies, materials and tea are provided!  This exclusive event provides funding for the nonprofit Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center.
