Poetic Voices: Readings and Conversation hosted by Natalie Elaine

Muzeo Museum & Cultural Center presents Poetic Voices with Natalie Elaine. This intimate virtual poetry reading will include 5 illustrious poets.

Through the content of his work, award-winning Los Angeles-based Poet, Music Producer and Activist, Christopher Siders, encourages his audience members to think critically about social norms and how we subconsciously affect one another through our everyday behaviors. Within his own experiences as an activist, he can share his successes and failures, and guide future activists at any institution, to make positive decisions for the community to flourish and teach students to become better allies for movements or areas of interest. He directed the MENding Monologues Spring 2013. His involvement with the MENding Monologues production has led him to join the feminism movement as an ally organizing events such as One Billion Rising, Slut Walk with Title IX at California State University Monterey Bay. Siders ran an award-winning column from 2014-2016 entitled Memoirs Of A Male Feminist via Lutrinae formerly known as the Otter Realm Newspaper. From 2015-2017, he administered feminism workshops at Soledad Correctional Facility with Richie Reseda, who was featured on CNN’s “The Feminist on Cellblock Y” documentary. Siders also directed A Race Through Time play in Spring 2017. Between 2013-2017 he was a cast member for various productions such as Almost, Maine, and Check, Please. Siders professionally performed alongside poets such as Rudy Francisco, Shihan The Poet, Ebony Stewart, and have graced stages such as Dominican University, Seaside High School, Beyond Baroque, UC Santa Barbara, Washington State University, and many more.

Tamara Branch is a writer, and multidisciplinary artist, from New York, born and raised in the Bronx. She’s the author of the award-winning book, ITGIRL4LIFE: How to bring out your special something and so much more, a self-esteem resource for girls all over the world, and her latest work, SPRINKLES Poems and Musings on Life, a creative exploration birthed in the first few months of quarantine 2020. A writer, actor, model, artist, poet, and self-care enthusiast for life.

 

Alejandro Perez Jr., a native is a multidisciplinary arts educator. He is a spoken word artist, DaVerse Lounge MC, published poet, Married father of six, Life coach and mentor. He is also a martial arts instructor, with a Contra-Mestre ranking in the discipline for 22 years.

 

 

Sherika Duncan is an author of five books who previously wrote her first novel, The Setup, which depicts the true essence of playing the cards that life has dealt in the face of adversity.
Sherika was born in Georgia. She studied Master in Business Administration with a specialization in project management at Forbes School of Business at Ashford University and a globally recognized PMI Certified Project Management Professional.
She pursued her studies in computer information systems at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University and public management certification at Florida State University. She lives in Florida with her children and family.

Hosted by: Natalie Elaine is a southern girl living in sunny California by way of Texas. She is devoted to making an impact through sharing her love of poetry, art, yoga, and meditation to the world. She is committed to living a life of raw truth and unapologetic discovery with her writing. She encourages everyone to tap into their gifts and not be afraid to use their words. She is currently working on a book of poetry and affirmations and plans to open a yoga studio by 2021 that incorporates a literary experience for all levels to enjoy.
