Guest Services Paid Internship Details:

Hourly Pay: $18

Weekly Hours: 32 – 40

Shifts: 10:30am – 5:30pm

Days: Wednesday – Sunday

Internship Duration: 6 Months

Description: 

MUZEO Museum and Cultural Center is seeking an intern to join the Guest Services Team. This intern will be the face of MUZEO, work the front desk, the Gift Shop, perform cash register operations, process sales on a POS, work events and programs, collaborates with the Exhibitions team, Programming and Special Events departments to provide support and to help achieve the programmatic goals of the institution. Performs other related duties as required.

Guest Services Internship Position Responsibilities:

• Engaging with Museum visitors to promote interaction with current exhibitions
• Sharing information about the Museum to enhance each visitor’s overall experience
• Working both independently and in group settings to support daily operations as well as special and private events
• Checking on presentation quality (picture and sound) and management of all gallery spaces, gallery upkeep includes and is not limited to: dusting, vacuuming, wiping down desks, and adjusting benches
• Assisting visitors by providing information about products, services, and exhibits to enhance overall Museum visitor experience

Qualifications:

• Ability to handle cash transactions
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Must possess excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently, with little direct supervision
• Must report to work at the scheduled time and adhere to policies
• Must be able to operate a computerized POS and/or ticketing system
• 1 to 2 years of retail sales or hospitality industry experience preferred
• Must maintain a neat appearance in accordance with the Dress Code Policy
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule – including evening/weekend/holiday availability
