Artists, collectives, and creatives are invited to submit their qualifications to create an
exciting new civic art piece in Anaheim. Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center, in partnership with
Center Housing Partners, is overseeing the effort to bring original, site specific artwork to be
created as part of a larger development initiative that furthers the mission of the City of
Anaheim to create a place for residents to live, work and play.
The Jamboree Housing development will transform the previous Tampico Motel into a
32-unit permanent supportive housing community that will serve transition-age youth (ages
18-24) who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness. The development will feature two civic art
pieces that will be vital to enhancing the aesthetics of the community and the quality of life for
future residents. The civic art pieces will celebrate the culture and values of the City of Anaheim
while embracing the context of the surrounding community.
As a leading arts institution in Orange County, Muzeo has been contracted to oversee
the civic art project, ensuring that there is deep community involvement, understanding of
Anaheim’s rich history, and artistic excellence. The proposed locations for the civic art pieces are
the housing development’s exterior wall along the South property line on Building 1 and the
wall along the West property line on Building 2.
The complex is intended to provide a place residents are proud to call “home” and by
featuring two civic art pieces will help create a sense of belonging for future residents and
enhance the surrounding community. Interested parties should read through the RFQ and
submit qualifications to tampico@muzeo.org. Designs are not requested at this time. Final
artwork will be decided after extensive community engagement and feedback. The deadline to
submit the RFQ is February 8, 2026 at 5:00PM.
