The Buffalo Soldier Experience open through March 11

In celebration of Black History Month, The Buffalo Soldier Experience will trace the historical contributions of Black men and women in the United States Armed Forces, beginning with the 9th and 10th Calvary Regiments who roamed the Western Frontier. Continuing through many major wars and conflicts throughout our American history, The Buffalo Soldier Experience will also highlight the ways in which Buffalo Soldier military history intersected with the growth of our nation.
Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for children 4-12, children aged 3 and under and members are free. Student/Senior/Military admission is $7 with ID.

Lunch and Learn

The Lunch and Learn series continues on Wednesday, February 14 at 12:30pm with a free one-hour presentation on the Illumination Foundation by Paul M. Leon. The lecture is on “Breaking the Cycle of Homelessness.” Bring your lunch, if you wish, and arrive by 12:15pm as this program starts promptly at 12:30pm in the Carnegie Building.

Women and Heart Disease: The Real Story

Heart disease is the number ONE killer of women in the United States. It kills more women than breast and lung cancer combined! Do you know that you can decrease your risk of heart disease by up to 80%? February is Women’s Heart disease awareness month. We are pleased to have Dr Jacqueline Eubany, a cardiologist, and the author of the book Women and Heart Disease Book: The Real Story speak about heart disease in women, risk factors for heart disease and how you can decrease your risk of developing heart disease by up to 80%.
The program includes readings, open discussion, an opportunity to purchase books and have them signed by the author.
